About the club

A club built by students who wanted Africa on the agenda.

LBS Africa Club exists so that business, investment and leadership across the African continent get the same serious attention at London Business School as any other region — in the classroom, on the trek, and on the Summit stage.

Our mission

Close the distance between London and the continent.

We're a student and alumni society for anyone at London Business School with a serious interest in Africa's markets — whether that means allocating capital, building a company, advising governments, or simply understanding a region often reduced to a single narrative in the business press.

We do that through one flagship public event, a standing calendar of member programming, and a network that keeps working long after graduation.

“We don't treat Africa as one market. Fifty-four economies deserve fifty-four different investment theses.”

Club Operating Principle
What we stand for

Four principles that shape our programming.

Specificity over slogans

We push past continent-level generalisations toward country- and sector-specific detail.

Practitioners, not just theory

Our speakers and mentors are people actively deploying capital or building companies on the continent today.

Open doors

Membership and events are open to the whole LBS community, not only students with prior Africa experience.

Long-term network

We treat alumni as active members, not a mailing list — the network is built to outlast any one cohort.

How we're organised

A student-led committee structure.

The club is run entirely by current MBA students, supported by an alumni advisory network. Committee seats rotate each academic year — current officeholders and contact details are shared with the LBS community through official school channels each term.
